Endings & Beginnings

There are times in life where we feel lost.. That one missing puzzle piece, and you ask yourself, how do you undo it all? I’ve always held onto things so closely, whether it be friends, relationships, or even a job. I’m going to be completely honest, I’ve never lost my inspiration as much as I did a few months back. It’s hard to tell yourself not to crawl back into that hole you tend to crawl back into when things get hard. It’s hard to keep holding on because one moment you can have it all, and then the next thing you know, you’re standing watching your whole world crumble and all you can do is just watch it all fall apart.

All my life I’ve had a strong desire to live free. To travel the world and sit at a cafe in paris sipping that authentic latte you bought with the few french words you know, or dropping everything and going on spontaneous late night trips with your friends, and all you care about is being in the enjoyment of everyone’s presence, or even going out of your comfort zone completely to learn something new, such as skateboarding. After all we are young, and in the blink of an eye you’ll be that person who has missed out on so much because you were afraid to step out of that comfort zone and work for that dream. You can lose everything, from friendships, to jobs, you name it. But the one thing you’ll always have in the end is yourself.

I have learned over time that self love is so essential in life. You may have heard the saying, you can’t love others if you don’t love yourself first. I strongly believe this can be true in some aspects, but also it may be hard for you to be happy with yourself. It’s hard to move on in life if you are still holding onto the opinions of others. You may be able to live your life free, but you can only distract yourself so much. The first step to loving yourself, is knowing your worth. No matter how much somebody tells you, you’re not good enough, you are still just as valuable as anybody else. I assure you that once you start accepting that self love, not only will you be happier, but you’ll be so much more fulfilled with living life.

The next step is to let go of all that negativity in your life. Things come and go in life, but in the end you’ll always have yourself. So step a step forward, let go of the past, and grow from it. Appreciate what you have in front of you. When the world is falling apart, thank God for what you still have. Hold that friend who’s always by your side close to you, and smile at the little bit you have, because you may be more blessed than others. I promise you, you can only move forward from then. So rather than holding on so tight to things, remember you are so much more important than that. Take it as a lesson and self grow from it. Because in the end you are whole, despite all the hardships and struggles. You have the power to own your own journey and heal. Do not be ashamed of the things that threaten to shatter you, because you are stronger than that. Today I want you to affirm that you are valuable, and I believe that you will overcome this hardship and grow stronger from it. So take this lesson, learn to love yourself, and go live your wildest life to the fullest. Do what makes YOU happy. Live for yourself. Go book that plane ticket you’ve always wanted to. Kiss that person who’s always on your mind late at night. And be the best version of yourself. After all cheers to nostalgic endings and beautiful beginnings.
